Fire Ban - Lamont County (April 25)

FIRE BAN Due to dry conditions Lamont County Emergency Services has issued a fire ban, effective immediately.  No open fires or burning are allowed in campgrounds or in any other area within the County, no exceptions.  ALL FIRE PERMITS ARE SUSPENDED EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Propane Barbeques will be allowed for cooking purposes only. And MUST be attended to at all times while in use.

Organizational Meeting Highlights

The Lamont County Organizational Meeting was held on October 28, 2020; Lamont County Council elected David Diduck as Reeve and Roy Anaka as Deputy Reeve to their third terms.

Bank signing authority, municipal auditor, municipal solicitor, and subdivision & development authority remained unchanged.

At the 2017 Organizational Meeting, Council appointed members to various internal/external boards committees for a 4-year term; therefore, Council committee appointments remained unchanged, with the exception of appointing Reeve Diduck, Deputy Reeve Anaka and Councillor Warawa to the Emergency Management Advisory Committee. Council confirmed the dates and times of Regular Council Meetings will be on the second Tuesday of the month at 9:00 a.m. Budget Meeting dates for 2020 will be November 24, 25 and 27, with Budget Approval at the December 8, 2020, Regular Council Meeting.
