Weekly Updates

Planned Public Works activities for July 22-26, 2024:
Dust Abatement:
- Calcium Chloride dust abatement 100 per cent complete.
- MG 30 base stabilization on RGE RD 170 is complete. Based on the current weather forecast, the surface dust suppressant will be completed later this month.
- Road oiling will commence in Divisions 2 & 5.
Road Gravelling:
- Gravel road patching as required throughout Lamont County.
- Select areas are experiencing significant rutting, and we are working to reshape the roads affected.
- 124 out of 236 total miles of the Road Gravelling program is complete (53%).
Oiled Dust Abatement Patching:
- We are starting to prep oiled dust abatement locations this week.
- Hand patching as required.
- 1,600 tonnes of cold mix has been stockpiled at Lamont Public Works.
- Ripping old oil dust controls as weather permits.
Drainage Activities:
- Culvert installations and replacements within Divisions 1, and 3.
- Contract culvert installation starting in Division 4.
- Assist with waterline break repairs.
Miscellaneous:
- Tree removal, garbage pick up and sign replacement, as required.
- Hamlet maintenance.
- Sign installation as required.
