Weekly Updates

Please review the notifications for updates and during weather events. Updates for gravel and drainage will be posted when weather/season allows. 

Planned Public Works activities for July 22-26, 2024:

Dust Abatement:

  • Calcium Chloride dust abatement 100 per cent complete.
  • MG 30 base stabilization on RGE RD 170 is complete. Based on the current weather forecast, the surface dust suppressant will be completed later this month.
  • Road oiling will commence in Divisions 2 & 5.

Road Gravelling:

  • Gravel road patching as required throughout Lamont County.
  • Select areas are experiencing significant rutting, and we are working to reshape the roads affected.
  • 124 out of 236 total miles of the Road Gravelling program is complete (53%).

Oiled Dust Abatement Patching:

  • We are starting to prep oiled dust abatement locations this week.
  • Hand patching as required.
  • 1,600 tonnes of cold mix has been stockpiled at Lamont Public Works.
  • Ripping old oil dust controls as weather permits.

Drainage Activities:

  • Culvert installations and replacements within Divisions 1, and 3.
  • Contract culvert installation starting in Division 4.
  • Assist with waterline break repairs.

Miscellaneous:

  • Tree removal, garbage pick up and sign replacement, as required.
  • Hamlet maintenance.
  • Sign installation as required.
