Fire Ban - Lamont County (April 25)

FIRE BAN Due to dry conditions Lamont County Emergency Services has issued a fire ban, effective immediately.  No open fires or burning are allowed in campgrounds or in any other area within the County, no exceptions.  ALL FIRE PERMITS ARE SUSPENDED EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Propane Barbeques will be allowed for cooking purposes only. And MUST be attended to at all times while in use.

Wildfire Smoke Updates

Please note: HWY 38 to the Vinca Bridge is currently closed due to wildfire. Smoke from this wildfire in Sturgeon County and near Redwater is blowing into Lamont County. The situation is being monitored and crews are assisting with the wildfire defense. 

Please phone 9-1-1 only in an emergency.

For those impacted by smoke air quality, please monitor the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI). Continue to take actions to protect your health and reduce exposure to smoke during wildfire season as applicable: airquality.alberta.ca/map

As a reminder, when under a fire ban, no burning is allowed.
