Lamont County COVID-19 Response
Lamont County is still open for business; however, we are taking precautions to limit public interaction with staff at this time. To that end, Lamont County Administration and Public Works offices will be closed to the public until further notice. Lamont County advises ratepayers and customers to contact County Administration by phone or email.
The majority of Community Services in-person programming through Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) and the Community Adult Learning Council (CALC) is cancelled until further notice; the exception is for essential programming. Alberta Approved Family Day Homes are exempt from provincial restrictions and are allowed to remain open for now; however, individual providers may close if they choose. CALC is taking steps to move to online delivery of programming, and to ensure those most vulnerable to job loss are supported. The County of Lamont Food Bank will remain accessible to those in need.
The risk in our region is currently deemed to be low. If the local risk level changes and there are further steps to be taken locally, the Lamont County website and social media sites (Facebook and Twitter) will be updated with the information.
We ask all residents to follow the Alberta Health Services prevention guidelines, which include:
- Use good hygiene practices, such as frequent handwashing
- Cover coughs and sneezes
- Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
- Stay at home and away from others if you are feeling ill
- If you have symptoms, stay home and call Health Link 811
