FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Generous Donation by Cenovus to Lamont County Volunteer Appreciation and Seniors’ Week Appreciation Events
July 4, 2023 – LAMONT, AB: Lamont County received a generous donation from Cenovus Energy to support its Seniors’ Appreciation Week BBQs and the Volunteer Appreciation dinners held recently in Lamont County. The County, through Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) has partnered with Cenovus to receive $2,000 to help fund these meals and show appreciation for our seniors and the many volunteers from across the region.
As a producer of oil and natural gas in Lamont County and Alberta’s Industrial Heartland, Cenovus approached Lamont County FCSS as part of its commitment to help ensure communities where they work and live are stronger and better off because of its presence in the community. Lamont County is appreciative of this donation, the recognition programs it helps fund towards its residents.
Facilitated by FCSS Lamont County Region, the Volunteer Appreciation Dinners are hosted each year to recognize the impact volunteers have across Lamont County—it is held during Volunteer Appreciation Month (April) annually. Lamont County recognizes the value and contribution of seniors during Alberta’s Seniors’ Week each year, and hosts barbecues across the region as appreciation.
“It is important to take time to appreciate volunteers within our communities, they are extremely valuable and help residents enhance their daily living,” said Sara Rindero, Director of Family & Community Support Services with Lamont County. “Seniors are an extremely important part of our community, and we are honoured to recognize the past, present and future contributions of the seniors each year.”
