Municipal Development Plan - Version for 2nd Reading (February 27, 2024)

See the amended version of the Municipal Development Plan (MDP, 849.22) as proposed and presented to Council for 2nd reading.

Updated content is highlighted in yellow based on feedback from previous public hearings, written submissions and discussion. These updates were consolidated and revised in the Councillor Workshop held in early February.

Third reading is planned for the March 27 Council meeting. 

This is about updating Lamont County's existing MDP (not starting from scratch)—the current MDP was adopted in 2007, and last amended in 2018. It is updating the original plan to align with the County Strategic Plan, to be open for opportunities, and to ensure the best interests for Lamont County. It updates policies to reflect current practices, procedures and initiatives to realize the Strategic Plan vision and guide future land use decisions.
