Fire Ban

PRESS RELEASE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

May 11, 2:30 P.M., Lamont County, Alberta

Lamont County has issued a total fire ban, effective immediately due to strong winds and dry conditions.

The Fire Ban applies to all county residences and businesses contained within County Boundaries.

No outdoor fires are permitted until further notice, including burning barrels and fireworks, nor are recreational fire pits or charcoal barbecues allowed. The use of propane appliances, such as barbecues, is permitted.  The County will NOT be issuing any Fire Permits until further notice.

Fire permits are suspended until the ban is lifted.  Caution is urged while doing any outdoor activities that could result in ignition of surface fuels (grass/stubble, etc).

The Fire Ban will be in effect until notification is otherwise provided.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Lamont County Administration at 780.895.2233 or toll free at 1.877.895.2233.
