Snow clearing - all hands are on deck

Including Public Works and Agricultural Services staff, we are diligently working to clear our roads as effectively as possible. The recent snow event has caused significant challenges with snow drifts and packed snow (see the photos). #LamontCounty understands people need to get to their jobs, school and other functions, as well as road access for emergencies.

Please be assured that we have every available piece of equipment as well as contracted service providers on the roads working to their maximum allowable 12 hours shifts. Our staff are doing the best they can to respond to your calls and we ask your patience. We will not tolerate physical or verbal abuse of Lamont County staff.

Roads are cleared on a priority basis starting with emergency routes and major roads. It can take up to 7-8 days with equipment and staff working hard to get this done (sometimes that means clearing in a specific area instead of travelling back for one clearing).

We appreciate your patience as we work to have our roads, driveways and access cleared as soon as possible, we will get to all County gravel roads and driveways.

See Lamont County’s Winter Maintenance (www.lamontcounty.ca/publicworks) for additional information.

If you need update on specific roads, please submit a Service Request (www.lamontcounty.ca/service-requests) and this will be addressed in sequence (bear in mind that request volumes increase during major snow events and may take additional time to address).
