Fire Ban - Lamont County (April 25)

FIRE BAN Due to dry conditions Lamont County Emergency Services has issued a fire ban, effective immediately.  No open fires or burning are allowed in campgrounds or in any other area within the County, no exceptions.  ALL FIRE PERMITS ARE SUSPENDED EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Propane Barbeques will be allowed for cooking purposes only. And MUST be attended to at all times while in use.

Small Business Wine and Cheese a Success

A Wine and Cheese Reception held October 21 to celebrate local business for Small Business week was a great success, for a first year turn out. Twenty people present representing 11 local businesses, also attending were Lamont County Council and a representative from Bruderheim Council.

The week of October 18-24 was declared Small Business Week by County Council. In addition to the reception recognizing local businesses, Jim Newman, Manager of Economic Development, announced the launch of a business directory on the County website, and upcoming features on local business with County Business Licenses in the inFocus page of the Lamont Leader.

Any business owners wishing to take advantage this free advertising are encouraged to apply for a business license
