REMINDER - Tax Notices Were Sent Out in Early May (Due June 30)

Please note that, in accordance with Section 311(1) of the Municipal Government Act, this year's Combined Assessment and Tax Notices were mailed to all taxpayers earlier this month. Payment is due June 30.
A 10% penalty will be applied to all unpaid taxes on July 1, 2025.
- View the 2025 Tax Insert (Soundbytes Newsletter).
In the event of a Postal strike, there are alternative options for payment besides through mail (i.e., in person, through direct banking or OptionPay., as well as the Lamont County drop box at the Administration Building). See: lamontcounty.ca/taxes for more information.
FYI - Tax rates for 2025 include a responsible three per cent increase for residential/farmland - with 1% for fire billing (approximately $40,000 towards a fire billing reserve), and 2% for gravel contract trucking (negotiated rate increases to be competitive with other regions).
This is lower than a proposed four per cent increase in the 2025 Budget Discussions, to cover service level needs as set by Council. Additional rates within your tax notice (that are not set by Lamont County) include Alberta School Foundation (which experienced a significant increase in 2025), Seniors’ Foundation Requisition and Municipal Waste Expense - these rates may contribute to a higher tax bill as compared to 2024. If you have concern with increases to the school portion please contact your MLA.
NOTE:
Accurate Assessment Group Ltd., the assessors for Lamont County, is available to speak with ratepayers (seen on a first-come, first-served basis):
- June 19: At the Lamont County Administration Building from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
