Reeve's Holiday Greeting 2021

Lamont County Reeve's Holiday Greeting and Update for 2021.

Full transcript from the video (also on YouTube with captions):

Fellow Lamont County residents:

With 2021 quickly drawing to a close, as the Reeve, I would like to extend holiday greetings and review.

What an interesting year it has been…I could focus on the pandemic, funding changes, or the drought and flooding challenges we have experienced this year; however, I want to highlight the direction our County is headed into 2022.

Historically, Council has seen a lack of stability across the organization. This instability was confirmed in an Organizational Audit, completed in late 2021, and by comments made by you—the public—on the campaign trail. Council has endeavoured to address this instability and we are seeing forward progress. There is a renewed discipline across the organization and Council towards delivering on our strategic plan and our mandate.

Council has put a significant effort on the development of the 2022 budget and will ensure both Human and Financial Resources are available to execute on this budget.

Looking into the future, we are taking steps to allow for growth, new jobs, investment in Lamont County, and improved quality of life.

Your Council will continue to advocate to the province and through Alberta Industrial Heartland Association to attract further investment in our County. Significant progress was made on this priority in 2021.

On behalf of Lamont County Council and staff, I would like to thank all County residents for your continuous support. May your Christmas be filled with joy and happiness. We look forward to a prosperous 2022 together.
