Participants Needed for Watershed Grant Project

Lamont County Agriculture Services Department is looking for producers and landowners to participate in our watershed grant project. Lamont County is partnering with the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance (NSWA), and the Alberta Riparian Habitat Management Society (Cows and Fish) to initiate a project to build awareness and demonstrate management practices that can maintain and improve our watersheds and support our agricultural operations.

For this project, the focus is to partner with landowners with cropping systems that border natural wetlands and other waterbodies. We will work with producers on project design and can help facilitate implementation. We will be looking for up to 5 project sites for the initiative to implement in 2020 and 2021.

If you are interested in learning more or have a site that fits our criteria, please contact Lindsay Benbow at 780-895-2585 or lindsay.b@lamontcounty.ca.
