Fire Ban - Lamont County (April 25)

FIRE BAN Due to dry conditions Lamont County Emergency Services has issued a fire ban, effective immediately.  No open fires or burning are allowed in campgrounds or in any other area within the County, no exceptions.  ALL FIRE PERMITS ARE SUSPENDED EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Propane Barbeques will be allowed for cooking purposes only. And MUST be attended to at all times while in use.

NOTICE – State of Local Emergency Declared Due to Flooding

Lamont County Council has declared a State of Local Emergency (SOLE) as of June 8, 2020, at 2:47 p.m. pursuant to the Emergency Management Act Section 21(1), due to overland flooding and drainage issues.

The public is advised that for the duration of the emergency, Lamont County may take any action it deems necessary to protect the safety of the public.

For the purposes of this SOLE, Lamont County Council will be giving readings to establish a Municpal Emergency Management Bylaw, establishing an Emergency Management Committee and Emergency Management Agency for Lamont County at the June 9, 2020, council meeting.
