FOE IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Reeve’s 10th Annual Charity Golf Tournament Raises $25,000 for Local Programs in Need!

September 1, 2023 – LAMONT, AB: Lamont County Reeve, David Diduck, is proud to announce this year’s charity golf tournament has raised $25,000.

Hosted at the Whitetail Crossing Golf Course in Mundare on August 17, over 100 golfers from the public, businesses and industry across Lamont County took in the great weather towards a great cause. Proceeds from the Reeve’s 10th annual tournament directly support the food bank, school breakfast programs and mental health initiatives within Lamont County.

Distribution of funds raised for the specific organizations and initiatives will be finalized and presented at an upcoming Council meeting.

With everyone’s support, Lamont County is doing what it can to support local initiatives to aid those in need and affected locally.

There are many opportunities to donate to organizations that offer local support, including the Lamont County Food Bank.

“Once again we see everyone step up and raise a tremendous amount for some great local causes across Lamont County,” said Lamont County Reeve, David Diduck. “Thank you to all participants who enjoyed a day of excellent weather, great golf and networking – thank you to our sponsors and participants for your generous donations! The funds raised go a long way in supporting local health and family support initiatives.”

Sponsors and participants, as well as staff volunteers, stepped up and supported this great tournament.

“Just like last year, I am amazed at the support of everyone that came out, provided prizes, and sponsored holes and the tournament," said Tom Koep, Manager of Economic Development with Lamont County. "It is always good to see the amount of support the Reeve's tournament has. With funds raised for those in need, this is a special cause. We are extremely grateful for our sponsors and participants who came out on such a great day and to support local initiatives!”

Lamont County appreciates the tournament’s gold/silver/bronze and hole sponsors—our gold sponsors: Cenovus Energy, CLH Group Inc., Quest Disposal & Recycling Inc., Sameng Inc., and Wolf Midstream. Mundare’s Whitetail Crossing golf club hosted the tournament and it was a great day for golf.

Golfers enjoyed the warm, sunny weather, and fund-raising through participating in raffles and 50/50 draws.

Snippets from the tournament:

  • Participants: 104 registered golfers in a Texas scramble best ball format.
