Landowner Soil Erosion Responsibility

ATTENTION LANDOWNERS:

The Alberta Soil Conservation Act states:

3. Every landholder shall, in respect of the landholder’s land, take appropriate measures

a) to prevent soil loss or deterioration from taking place, or
b) if soil loss or deterioration is taking place, to stop the loss or deterioration from continuing.
1998 cS-19 s3

Therefore, it is every landowner’s and/or land occupier’s duty and responsibility to protect the land from any type of deterioration due to all or any wind, water or movement of land that can cause erosion.

If you need information on how you can protect your land from erosion, contact Lamont County Agricultural Services at 780-895-2585.

Please help Lamont County to protect the soil resources of the county for future generations.
