Fire Ban - Lamont County (April 25)

FIRE BAN Due to dry conditions Lamont County Emergency Services has issued a fire ban, effective immediately.  No open fires or burning are allowed in campgrounds or in any other area within the County, no exceptions.  ALL FIRE PERMITS ARE SUSPENDED EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Propane Barbeques will be allowed for cooking purposes only. And MUST be attended to at all times while in use.

Landowner Oil & Gas Information Workshop

Strathcona County and Lamont County are co-sponsoring a workshop for area landowners to gain information about oil and gas development on their lands.

Workshop topics will include: The Weed Act and oil and gas leases and right-of-ways; Surface Rights Board processes - step by step and landowner rights in receivership; landowner question period; County processes and resources, New Clubroot pathotype; AER and Farmers Advocate update and resources.

Location: Heartland Hall, Strathcona County ( 55305 Rge Rd 214/ south of Hwy 15 on Hwy 830 )


This is a free workshop for participants, but you must register for the event. There will be a lunch provided. Deadline for registration is Friday, February 24 @ 4 p.m.
