Lamont County Staff Member Covid-19 Positive

On April 26, 2021, Lamont County was informed that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. This is the second positive case of COVID-19 identified within Lamont County staff; the first case was reported on July 10, 2020.

The employee informed Lamont County management as soon as test results were received and is recovering in isolation at home. To protect the privacy of the affected staff member, Lamont County will not share their name, position, or work location.

Lamont County has informed anyone who may have been in close contact with the staff member and advised that testing and isolation requirements set out by the Province of Alberta are followed. Lamont County will continue to work with Alberta Health Services & Occupational Health and Safety, as necessary.

Lamont County follows appropriate COVID-19 prevention protocols in its workplaces including, but not limited to, the installation of plexiglass barriers at all public service counters and between workstations, the establishment of safe physical distancing protocols, mandatory face coverings, and extra cleaning of commonly touched surfaces. Out of an abundance of caution, the affected building will be cleaned and sanitized.

All residents and visitors are reminded that the province has ordered the mandatory use of face masks in all public spaces. Please remember to physically distance and use proper handwashing techniques to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
