COVID-19 Information for the Public

Lamont County is following the direction of Alberta Health, which is the authority on COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) for municipalities. Based  recommendations, Lamont County Community Service (FCSS and CALC) programs are cancelled until further notice.

To reduce your risk and help prevent COVID-19’s spread (along with influenza and other common viruses), practice good hygiene like handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and avoiding touching your face with unwashed hands. Stay at home and away from others if you’re feeling under the weather. You can dial Health Link at 811 if you have questions or concerns about your health.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms such as fever and dry cough, and have recently travelled outside the country (or were exposed to someone who has COVID-19), stay at home and call Health Link at 811. You should not go to a health care facility without consulting 811 first.

The public is encouraged to visit Alberta Health and the Government of Canada’s websites for verified information and steps people can take to keep our community healthy. Trusted resources are listed below, or you can call Canada Health at 1-833-784-4397 for information.
