Fire Ban - Lamont County (April 25)

FIRE BAN Due to dry conditions Lamont County Emergency Services has issued a fire ban, effective immediately.  No open fires or burning are allowed in campgrounds or in any other area within the County, no exceptions.  ALL FIRE PERMITS ARE SUSPENDED EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Propane Barbeques will be allowed for cooking purposes only. And MUST be attended to at all times while in use.

County Offices Opening September 14

At the September 8, 2020, Council Meeting, Council passed a motion to re-open Lamont County Administration and Public Works buildings to the public as of September 14, 2020.

In preparation for this re-opening, Lamont County has implemented the following protocols and procedures to help ensure the health and safety of staff and the public:
  • Plexiglass has been installed at front desk reception areas and at additional desks in offices that encounter high traffic.
  • Floor decals have been placed onto the entrance floors in each building to help guide the public on where to stand and further promote social distancing.
  • A maximum of 4 (four) people will be allowed inside at once. Any party who does not have a floor decal to stand on will be required to wait outside in a line.
  • Masks and sanitizer are supplied and made available at the front entrances.
  • Ratepayers who require a meeting must book an appointment in advance. All visitors will be pre-screened and will not be allowed entrance if they fail the questionaire.
  • The public will be limited to the front entrance or a meeting room.
  • The public washroom is not permitted for use unless it is an emergency.
