Council Meeting Notes for April 14, 2020
The regular monthly Council meeting was held on April 14, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chambers and through Microsoft Teams. The meeting agenda can be found on the Agendas and Minutes page; minutes are posted asap after approval by Council.

Utility Billing Late Fees and Penalties
To support those financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Provincial Government has allowed residential, farm and small business customers to defer their electricity and natural gas payments for 90 days and recommended that municipalities extend the same opportunity to municipal utility account holders. Council moved to waive penalties and fees associated with late payment of County water utility bills for 90 days, from March 18, 2020, until June 18, 2020.
Cancellation of the May 12, 2020, Regular Meeting of Council
In order to follow the recommendations made by the Province of Alberta for restrictions on social gatherings, social distancing, etc., Administration recommended that the Regular Council Meeting sheduled for May 12, 2020, be cancelled. If urgent business arises, Council can call a Special Meeting on an as-needed basis. Council agreed to cancel the meeting.
Division 5 Calcium
Councillor Woitas raised a concern about the calcium program and use of calcium on the roads in his division. After discussion, council moved to direct Administration to not use calcium for Division 5 road maintenance.
Truck-Fill Road
Councillor Woitas raised a concern about the condition of drainage around the truck-fill road. Council directed Administration to review the correction of the south ditch line on the Heartland truck-fill road.
