Beware of Beaver Traps!

Lamont County Agricultural Services is giving notice to beware of beaver traps set up throughout the municipality on county rights-of-way and on private lands. Traps are placed if water flow is restricted in any way and/or impeding the County’s infrastructure.

This statement is issued due to the high risk and safety factors that surface when the public has no knowledge of how traps are used. The Agricultural Services department warns that NONE of these traps be tampered with or taken.

To prevent getting caught in traps, please keep pets on-leash for safety near control areas and in locations known for beaver activity. Individuals found tampering with or taking traps WILL be prosecuted.
