Public Hearing - Road Closure Bylaws 791.18 and 792.18

BYLAWS OF LAMONT COUNTY IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CLOSING PUBLIC TRAVEL AND CONSOLIDATION OF AND REGISTERING A NEW ROAD PLAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 22 OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT, CHAPTER M26.1, REVISED STATUTES OF ALBERTA 2000, AS AMENDED.

WHEREAS the lands hereafter described are no longer required for public travel, and

WHEREAS application has been made to Council to have Registered Road Plan 4413EO closed and consolidated with NW 29-53-19-W4 (Bylaw 791.18) and SW 32-53-19-W4 (Bylaw 792.18), and

WHEREAS the Council of Lamont County deems it expedient to provide for a bylaw for the purpose of closing to public travel certain roads, or portions thereof, situated in the said municipality, and therefore disposing of same, and

WHEREAS notice of the intention of Council to pass a bylaw has been given in accordance with Section 606 of the Municipal Government Act, and

WHEREAS Council was not petitioned for an opportunity to be heard by any person claiming to be prejudicially affected by the bylaw

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of Lamont County, in the Province of Alberta does hereby close to public travel for the purpose of disposing and consolidating of Registered Road Plan 4413E0 into NW 29-53-19-W4 and SW 32-53-19-W4 subject to rights of access granted by other legislation:

ALL OF ROAD WITHIN THE NORTH HALF OF NW 29-53-19-W4 CONTAINING 1.05 HECTARES (2.60 ACRES) MORE OR LESS, AND ALL OF ROAD WITHIN SW 32-53-19-W4 CONTAINING 1.932 HECTARES (4.77 ACRES) MORE OR LESS, EXCEPTING THEREOUT ALL MINES AND MINERALS AND THE RIGHT TO WORK THE SAME

THEREFORE TAKE NOTICE THAT pursuant to Sections 606 of the Municipal Government Act a Public Hearing to consider the proposed Bylaws will be held:

Time: 9:30 a.m.
Place: Council Chambers, Lamont County Administration Bldg. 5303 – 50th, Avenue, Lamont, AB T0B 2R0

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT anyone wishing to submit a written representation may do so by providing the submission to Tina Cosby, Senior Planning and Development Officer before 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT copies of the proposed bylaw are posted at www.lamontcounty.ca for review and may be inspected at the Lamont County office during normal business hours. Also note that the purpose of the closure bylaws is to allow portions of the Road Plan to be incorporated in a new plan to be registered showing the current road location, plus during this time there will be no disruption to traffic while the new registration takes place.
