LCES MOvember Campaign

Lamont County Emergency Services is currently running their largest Movember campaign to date.

What is Movember? Men are dying on average 5 years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons. A growing number of men – around 10.8M globally – are facing life with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men. And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 75% of all suicides. Movember is uniquely placed to address this crisis on a global scale. The movement funds groundbreaking projects all over the world, engaging men where they are to understand what works best and accelerate change.

What is LCES Doing? Many of our personnel have committed to raising awareness this month. They do this by growing out a moustache to “start a conversation” and are raising funds online. Rest assured that many of these moustaches will be conversation starters in their own way. You can see the current LCES Team HERE.

As you can imagine, many of our team members are incredibly competitive so the stakes have been raised a bit. Currently, there is an added challenge between the “Mo-Bros” and “Mo-Sistas.” Whichever sub-team raises the least amount of money will see that team Captain sport a new, very real, and permanent, 2-inch moustache tattoo donated by a local tattoo artist.

How Can You Help? Please consider donating to this worthwhile cause. You can donate to specific individuals on the team, or just make a general team donation. Every bit counts! You can donate through the LCES Team Page HERE. If you would like to “grow a mo” or fundraise, feel free to join our team using the same link!
