Fire Ban - Lamont County (April 25)

FIRE BAN Due to dry conditions Lamont County Council has issued a fire ban, effective immediately.  No open fires or burning are allowed in campgrounds or in any other area within the County, no exceptions.  ALL FIRE PERMITS ARE SUSPENDED EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Propane Barbeques will be allowed for cooking purposes only. And MUST be attended to at all times while in use.

Lamont County Twinning Ceremony with the Village of Nebyliv, Ukraine

On Tuesday September 7th Lamont County has the unique distinction of being “the cradle of Ukrainian settlement in Canada.” To commemorate the bravery, sacrifice, and contribution that Ukrainians have made in Canada, Lamont County has embarked on a twinning initiative with the Perehinske Community Village.  The Perehinske Community Village from which early settlers came, triggered the first of five waves of Ukrainian immigration.
