Proudly presenting the history of the Ukrainian settlement with a large collection of 16th and 17th century liturgical books from Ukraine. Across the road is the "Grotto", a shrine and elegant garden built by the Basilian Fathers in 1934 and the Basilian Fathers Monastery. Constructed in 1922 this is the oldest Basilian Monastery in Canada. At its peak it housed over fifty members, while today it is home to over a dozen Basilian Fathers.

The Basilian Fathers Museum in Mundare has a much longer history than many of Alberta's museums and attracts over 5000 visitors annually. It began to take form in 1953 and was officially opened in 1957. In 1991, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Ukrainian settlement in Canada, the Basilian Fathers built a beautiful new museum housing a collection of religious and Ukrainian folk artifacts. There are no admission fees, but donations are appreciated.
