Mission: "To make a difference in children’s lives by supporting families and responding to their individual needs in building a foundation in learning that allows every child to strive to his/her potential."

CALS offers programs and services that support families and enhances the development and well-being of children. We are dedicated to assisting families and educators to help children develop the experiences and skills necessary for successful life-long learning.

CALS offers the following programs to families in Vegreville and communities in Lamont County:

The Family Literacy Program provides services that support families with children ages 0-6 years, to strengthen and build literacy skills and foster the involvement of parents in their children's learning. Our families are introduced to play ideas with an emphasis on early language and literacy development. Parents are provided with information on choosing books and ways to share books with their children in a positive way. Connecting families to resources available to them is another important aspect of our programs. All programs are open to parents/caregivers and their children. There is no charge to attend any of our programs.

We offer early literacy programs in Lamont, Mundare and Andrew.
