Churches
Lamont County has 47 Churches - more per capita than anywhere else in North America.
A booklet containing self-guided driving tours of our 47 churches can be downloaded HERE. The booklet is in PDF format, so you will need to have the Adobe Acrobat program on your computer. If you would like to plan your tour ahead and arrange to see the interiors of some of our beautiful churches, please click here to download a list of names and telephone numbers of the contact person for each church. The booklet is available for $2 at the County Office and at these other locations. If you would like one sent out by mail, please send a cheque for $3 to Lamont County, General Delivery, Lamont AB TOB 2RO. The County has also prepared a poster showing a picture of each church. The poster is $3 at the County Office or Basilian Fathers Museum in Mundare. Due to the high costs of "tubes", the poster is $8 by mail. If you want both poster and booklet, the cost will be $10. Contact the County Office for further information.
Please remember that our churches are struggling with high costs for maintenance and repairs. If you do ask someone to open up a church for you, a small donation into their "church maintenance box" would be most welcome.
Lamont County's Church Tour Booklet was a provincial winner in the Attractions Canada 2001 and 2003 Awards Program.
Once a year there is a Doors Open Event in which most of the Churches in Lamont County take part. It is usually the first weekend in June and it sees the participating Churches open their Doors to the public to view the beauty and history that exists. Here is the brochure from this year's event for your reference:

We hope to see you at next years event!
