Who are We?
Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) is an 80/20 funding partnership between the province, municipalities and Métis Settlements. FCSS Lamont County Region is a mulit-muncipal program, serving Lamont County, Village of Chipman and the Town of Mundare.
FCSS Lamont County Region collaborates with all local municipalities, other FCSS programs and services providers as we strongly believe that partnerships are fundamental to community building.
FCSS :
- Is preventative in Nature
- Enhances, strengthens and stabilizes family and community life
- Helps people to develop independence and strengthen coping skills
- Helps people develop interpersonal and group skills which enhance relationships
- Promotes volunteerism
- Encourages and facilitates cooperation and coordination
- Promotes, encourages and facilitates the development of stronger communities
- Promotes citizen participation
- Enables local decision making
FCSS can help:
- Identify community needs
- Develop and implement new services and programs
- Provide information on available services in and outside the community including further referral
- By being a resource for ongoing programs and assist in the administration of these programs
- Encourage community groups throughout Lamont County to work together for the betterment and well being of the community and residents.
FCSS is available to:
- Run a project (workshop, presentation) when requested;
- Work cooperatively to plan projects;
- Provide assistance in planning and organizing programs, speakers, workshops;
- Assist with grant applications;
- Assist in recruiting, training volunteers;
- Promote cooperation and coordination with other agencies
