We have been around for a long time. Our purpose is to assist the communities in Lamont County in assessing adult educational needs. Utilizing available resources, we offer programs of adult education and encourage “life long learning”. Below are a few examples of the types of programs we offer:

Are you interested in being one of our instructors? Would you like volunteer your time with our organization? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, please call us! We are grateful to Alberta Advanced Education and Technology for the grant funding provided to us each year. We are also very grateful to UFA for their annual sponsorship contributions and we are especially grateful to the local businesses of Lamont County for their support over the past several decades. |

In 1972, the Department of Alberta Advanced Education created a new branch called Further Education Services designed to fund non-credit adult education courses. In 1975, the provincial legislature restructured Further Education Councils to function as local volunteer boards with a mandate to administer local courses. To date, there are 81 Community Adult Learning Councils in the province. Lamont County Community Adult Learning Council (CALC) is one of them.
