Location
Lamont County is situated 62 km north east of the provincial capital of Edmonton. Area Total Land - 2,474 sq km (955 sq mi) Industrial Heartland Area - 197 sq. km (76 sq. mi)

Land designated for industrial and commercial development is located in a prime spot adjacent to Highway 15 and 45, twenty kilometres east of Fort Saskatchewan - a mere forty five minutes from Edmonton. In addition, there are a number of different sized land tracts available throughout the County on lower agricultural land. This land can be used for commercial and industrial uses on a discretionary basis with approval from the Municipal Planning Commission (MPC).
Economic Diversity
Agricultural value added industries include farm equipment sales/service, fuels and fertilizers, livestock products/services, grain handling and hauling facilities. Major employers include Agricore United, Pioneer Grain and NBI Feedyards. Independent businesses operating in Lamont County include a broad range of retail products, consumer services, restaurants and construction products/services. Trading Area and Workforce Lamont County is in proximity to Edmonton, the sixth largest metropolitan area of Canada with a population of over 1 million people.
