Incorporation & the Early Years
In January, 1939, the Lamont School Division No. 18 was formed. The School Board consisted of Dmetro Ulan (Chairman), P. Moshansky, W. Semaniuk, D. Sorochan and F. Stelter. The first Secretary-Treasurer was Marshall Woycenko and first Superintendent was A. R. Gibson. The divisional office was at Lamont.

Six years later, in March of 1944, the Municipal District of Lamont No. 516 (later No. 82) was incorporated, uniting the three smaller districts of Pines, Wostok, and Leslie. The office was at Lamont and the first council consisted of Peter Moshansky (Reeve), L. Stawnichy, W. Eleniak. M. Cholak and S. Rudko. The first Secretary Treasurer was Michael Nemirsky, who held that position until his passing in January, 1968. It was in January, 1968 that the County of Lamont No. 30, uniting the Lamont School Division No.18 and the Municipal District of Lamont No. 82, was incorporated.

The first council consisted of John S. Batiuk of Mundare, Division 1 (Reeve), Nick W. Diduck of Chipman: Division 2, Frank Semaniuk of St. Michael: Division 3, John J. Kawyuk of Whitford: Division 4 and Michael Woitas of Bruderheim: Division 5. Due to the unfortunate passing of Nemirsky, the new council was without a Secretary Treasurer. John Worbets was appointed in an acting capacity until the Council was able to attain the services of Walter Leskiw. The new Council was charged with the responsibility of administering an area that had made a vast contribution to the province and country.

Recent Council & Management
In 1974 Batiuk was succeeded on County Council by Joe Siracky and John Kawyuk by Mike Kapick, Frank Seminiuk by Wm. Fedyniak and later Michael Woitas by Bob Thomlison. Thomlison resigned and Alex Cholak succeeded him. After one term Joe Siracky was succeeded by Peter Zagrosh who until October 1998 represented Division 1 on Council.  Nick Diduck took the Chipman seat and retained that until 1983. Leskiw retired as Secretary Treasurer in 1982 and was replaced by his assistant Dae Derdak.

Elections take place in October every third year.
