Fire Ban Lifted

Effective 11 a.m on Monday, June 10, 2019, Lamont County is lifting the imposed FIRE BAN recently enacted. A resumption to pre-fire ban normalcy for burning, camp fires and ATV use are now authorized within rural Lamont County. Fire Ban Downgraded to Fire Advisory

Please be advised that effective at 12:00 p.m. June 05, 2018, the Fire Ban for Lamont County is changed to a Fire Advisory. The Fire Advisory allows for fire pits, safe campfires burn barrels with screens and fire permits to be issued for the burning of 4 foot X 4 foot debris piles as per County Fire Permit Policy 4121. Bruderheim Natural Area Closed to ATVs

Due to dry conditions and the extreme vulnerability to wildfire in this area, the Government of Alberta has closed the Bruderheim Natural Area to all ATV traffic. This closure is being enforced, and anyone attempting to ignore the closure could be charged. An Environmental Hotline has been put in place by the Ministry of Environment for residents to report any all-terrain vehicles or other fire hazard concerns in this area.
